30 Days of Thankfulness

During our morning Thanksgiving devotion, we discussed Matthew 6:31-34. It talks about how we shouldn't worry about tomorrow, and God will provide our needs. One of the questions, "what has God provided for you?", was easily answered by my oldest. His answer was not one of clothes, food and shelter...but instead "he provided me the job to take care of Ada and Grady".

So today, I think I will take time to say just how thankful I am for that big boy! He is our first born, and our oldest boy! He has the best personality! Funny, inquisitive, in charge. As you have probably guessed, those same personality traits can work against him at times! I appreciate his humor...except at inappropriate times. I adore his inquisitiveness...but have been guilty of "question exhaustion" from time to time. I also am so proud of his ability to take charge....except when he is overstepping in to MY charge a bit! These personality traits, while difficult somedays, will be what makes him a wonderful man one day! 

But more than personality, he has faith. And what seems, more everyday, to be a sureness of faith. A sureness that God is who He says He is. He believes, without question of exhistence...question of details, but not of existence! 

Chris and I often find ourselves scratching our heads trying to figure out just where he came from! ;) We are just average, somewhat quiet, reserved people! And he is wise, outspoken, talkative, and quite outgoing! He teaches us...every.single.day! He teaches us so much! 

Today I am thankful for his ability to lead. His acceptance of his role as the big brother. His sureness of faith. Today I am thankful that I get to be his Mommy! He taught me what being a mommy was all about! And made it so very enjoyable we decided we needed to do it again! ;) He is absolutely wonderful! Adds so much joy and wonder to our lives! Thank you, God, for this wonderful boy! And most of all that he is ours! :)
