30 Days of Thankfulness

Thanksgiving is nearing, I am so excited this year! Excited for the Christmas season that approaches right behind Thanksgiving, for spending time with friends and family, and for experiencing the fun that comes along with Christmas for the kids! Last year, having a newborn...well, Thanksgiving and Christmas were quite a blur! So, I have enjoyed, this year, reflecting on the things that make me thankful, on the things that make my life happy, on the people and things that make me who I am. It's been nice! In just over a week and a half, my writing about 30 days of thankfulness will be over, but I hope for you and I, that we can continue to find things each and everyday that we are thankful for! That makes us smile. Those people and things that we can look up and say, "thank you, God! I know that was You!"

Today, I am thankful for peace. Peace of mind. Some situations in life require prayer (tons of it), tears, and tough decisions. And then, when you least expect it, you realize you have found peace. God has calmed your heart, dried your tears, met you where you are and provided peace...not a perfect solution, but peace! No the easy way out, but peace! It is with a smile, a thankful heart, and peace that I write today! On occasion, may it be a big issue or small, we have to give "it" to God and allow His peace to fill us. Things don't always work out the way we want, the road isn't always easy, and there are always surprises along the way. There are times all along the way, weather it be a medical concern, family concern, friend concern, career concern or self concern, that we have to step back and let God handle it. I not only thank God for His peace and Hie plan in my life, but pray that some of those close to me may feel it too. For those of you who need peace, rest assured, He's got this! ;)

Philippians 4:6-7

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
