Faithful Friday

Today, it's all about the little things. Just one of those days when all the little things make your heart full. I am overwhelmed with gratitude and filled with love for the people I share my house with and those that I call family!
It's been a good week! We got to meet our Rosey half way on Wednesday! It was such a wonderful morning!!! :)
This week was about kisses,
Pretty nails,

Imagination,
A dozen little girl outfit changes,
Bubble beards,
Fun lunches,
School work,
Playing,
Family time,
And the beautiful singing of a toddler! These are the moments that fill my heart, make me smile, and remind me over and over again, God is good, God is great! A day behind, but happy "Faithful Friday" on this Saturday afternoon! ;)

Work Box Wednesday and Tot Thursday

Well! I finally fell behind. But only a couple days so we will make it up today. :)

Here's a little recap of what the school days have looked like for us this past week! Ada started her first unit, after completing the first two weeks of foundation. She is loving it! And doing very well. She loves to write, color and cut! Total opposite of brother. His strong suits are math and science. He's a hands on boy! So finding the balance between the two this week has been quite an adjustment. Slowly but surely we seem to be settling into a good groove, which is nice. So here's a lite glimpse at what's been in the work boxes...
Letter and unit introduction.
Sound discrimination and letter practice for Ada!

We dyed noodles for the first time. The little one got in on this fun too. It's been great for art projects and math sorting/counting! :)

Handwriting!
Salt tray :)

Math. She is definitely not in love with math like Grayson, but like I said, she is strong in the handwriting department! ;)

Art...which she LOVES!

Outside school day was a blast for her! She learned about shadows, and we had music and book time outside as well. Music was a fun time for everyone! Lots of dancing.

Put broken crayons in the sun to melt them down into candles. :)

Making raisins!

He made a scroll with his handwriting work from the past couple weeks. This was a history, bible, and handwriting lesson in one! ;)

Learning about the seasons and comparing it with the Jewish Calendar seasons.

 Copy work in art.

 Math workbook!

Skittles are working! Great results in his journal and motivation to TRY writing neat good sentences with punctuation and correct use of capital and lower case letters! Definite improvement this week!
Phonics. We are reviewing the short vowels and making a little review game for each vowel.

 More math! ;)

More workbook :)

Lego trees house he purchased with his birthday money! It was in one of his "star boxes" for when he finished all his other work. :) This kept him busy for hours! Not once did he want/need help!
Reading game. I wrote words, he erased the word I called out...he didn't consider this "school" so he loved it! And didn't even know he was learning! ;)
Pattern animals were a family affair this week! :) Grady, of course, was only interested for a second or two and then it was flipping, climbing, jumping...
Science was all about soil and flowers. He loved examining a rose. Exploring the different parts, petals, and types! He was in boy heaven! Dirty hands and science!
Grayson is doing math and phonics everyday now, in the first grade. It's a big change from last year, but the challenge definitely helps keep him focused. He is enjoying the extra work and especially enjoys moving a tag from his box to his "completed" tags!

Words to remember..."Jesus is the light of the world".
Our cafeteria got carried away with some cute lunches to go with our sun, soil, and flowers! It was fun. :)
Our little boy is all signed up and ready to start "school" next week! I hope he loves it! :) and big brother and big sister are excited for him as he begins his own little adventure! :)
