I have been wanting to cook more...you may even remember that was one of my resolutions for the year...well Wildtree has pretty much helped me accomplish this, all while being natural, organic, and ALL nut free (we have a nut allergy in one of our children!). My family even thinks I can cook now! ;) So with one day of prep, and a few Wildtree spices and seasonings, I fill our freezer up about once a month with 17-20 meals! We usually have leftovers at least one or two nights, so that works out great! :)
Last week, I was somewhat slack! We went out one night and I made my family eat a lot of left overs...don't judge! ;) But, from the freezer, I pulled out and prepared these three meals:
Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff
1 1/2 lbs of stew meat
1/2 medium onion, diced
8 oz pack of sliced mushrooms
1 packet Wildtree Stroganoff Skillet Meal Seasoning
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 cup of water
Mix all of this in a freezer bag. Remove air, double bag and freeze.
To prepare: Place contents of bag in crockpot. Cook on love for 6-8 hours. Add 4 oz of cream cheese and sour cream to slow cooker for the last 30 minutes. Serve over egg noodles.
We really enjoyed this one!! Grayson was very impressed! I will say that I left out the onion, mushrooms and extra salt and pepper. My family won't eat mushrooms and I try not to add much salt to things! ;) This one is definitely on the list to repeat! And we ate on the leftovers for two nights.
Sloppy Skillet
Bag 1: 1 1/2 lb of ground beef
1/2 medium onion
1/2 green bell pepper, diced
Bag 2: 14.5 oz can of diced tomato
6 oz can of tomato paste
3 tbsp of Wildtree Sloppy Joe Blend
1 tbsp of red wine vinegar
Mix in bags freezer bags. Remove air, double bag and freeze.
To Prepare: Brown meat and drain. Add tomato contents bag to skillet, 2 cups of uncooked macaroni, and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 11-13 min. Remove from heat and top with mozzarella cheese.
Chris and I liked this a lot. The kids were not too into it, but like I said, we enjoyed it! ;)
Rancher Grilled Steaks with Blue Cheese Crowns
Bag 1: 4 steaks of your choice
2 tbsp of Wildtree Hickory Smoked Grilling Grapeseed Oil
2 tbsp Wildtree Rancer Steak Rub
Bag 2: 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp of Wildtree Rancher Steak Rub
3 tbsp butter, softened
1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
(mix to form a paste consistency)
Combine in freezer bags and smush ingredients around.
To Prepare: Thaw in fridge. Form crowns into small 1 1/2 inch "patties". Place in fridge to harden slightly.
Grill steaks approx. 12-18 minutes. Add crowns on top of steak during the last minute of grilling.
We had these for Sunday lunch with baked potatoes and veggies! So yummy!! I did leave out the blue cheese in the crowns, because not everyone is a fan of blue cheese, but seriously, these were so so good! :)
I will do my best to get pictures of these yummy dishes this week! ;) Sorry if you are so not interested in this! But, if you get a cooking itch, try them! And just a note, if you decide you would like to try any Wildtree products, they will last you for many many uses! Another reason I love it! Fill your freezer up with meals over and over again! There's nothing like a thirty minute or less prep time and good for you meals, for a family of 5! It's a life saver!!!
