The title holds no truth for me! Just putting that out there before I get started! ;) It is actually from a song that my big kids and I could sit and listen to all day!! We love the music from the new Frozen movie! And this week, along with the rest of the United States, that's just what we were...FROZEN! A deep freeze can present quite a few challenges for our little family! Daddy, being the wonderful plumber he is, is forced to spend countless hours calming customers and repairing their frozen pipes! He worked a gazillion hours this week and spent the few at home on the phone, planning a gazillion more hours worth of work! I probably don't brag on him enough...I hope our boys (and girl) are able to appreciate his amazing work ethic and loyalty to his work and family. And then there's the kids...did I mention I have three kids 5 and under?? We love the outdoors...it's what gets us through. We can run out there, we can be loud out there, we can spread out out there! It's a necessary part of our life...but we tried to make the most of it and have lots of indoor fun since we were forced!! ;)
Did I mention the power went out and forced us out of the house in the mere 14 degrees?? "I can't put my arms down"...that's what I heard him thinking every time I looked back at him! ;)
Did I mention we are Frozen fans?? My girl put her request in for a "snow princess dress" on the way home from the theater! And since Grayson is still willing to wear the clothes his ole' mama makes him, then I am going to keep making them! And he sings Olaf's song so well! :) I would make her 10 more of those dresses just to watch her "float" around all day. (I hope to get my first sewing tutorial typed up on this dress in the next day or two!) And she informed me her name is now Elsa. :)

We filled our days with pillow jumping, pillow forts, sensory bins, and group school time! The big kids enjoyed school time together and talked a lot about how fun next year will be! This makes me happy!! And the sensory bins were something I started when Ada was a toddler...I never really realized how entertaining little buckets full of "stuff" could be! He was totally into it!! I got out my little bin of Valentine goodies, and he was completely into it for a very very long time! Every day!! :)
If you follow along with us, you probably know that giving my baby a hair cut was something I have been putting off, but I can now tell you...the mullet is gone! ;) And as a friend told me, he is still my baby!! And so thankful that this baby boy is finally feeling so much better!
And just a few more accomplishments this week...My boy finally earned his three days in a row of outstanding behavior!! He has been really working at this for a long long time!! He would get two days and then goof on the third, but he finally did it! 3 wonderful school days! 3 wonderful chore days! 3 days of self control and good choices! Yippee!! He is 5.5 years old now...I wonder if maybe this accomplishment means we are creeping up on the "big kid" stage. The pleasing one! Does this exist?? He gets his choice of 3 dollars or a small date to a place of his choice with this accomplishment...he chose to do the date! So a date it is!! And maybe tomorrow we will start another three days! :)
And I cooked!! Yep, like every night! Yes the crock pot was used some, but I still did a lot of cooking! Even pulled out my treasured recipe book my mom made me several Christmas' ago, full of all our special family recipes and made my first sweet potato casserole! And I personally think it was pretty good!! :) Maybe, just maybe, this too will continue! :)
