Chasing My Tail

Today was one of those days...I spent a lot of time doing what felt like running in circles! I have this ginormous list in my mind of things to get done, and a real itch to do them lately (don't mistake that for motivation...it's just an itch ;) )...only there is so much to do, I don't start, because I am not sure where to start! Before kids, everything had a place...I was highly organized and I would dare even say "clean"! Three kids later, I have trouble finding two shoes that match...and cleaning, well...we just won't go there, but I try! I really do try!
As the quote goes...
“Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the sidewalk before it stops snowing.”
So here's the day...have the big kids strip their beds while I "organize" their toy buckets...while doing this I take a break to rescue Grady

(who is currently at the age where he is into, on top of,  or stuck inside something all the time! Discovering his world!) While rescuing Grady, the big kids "play" in their room (or pull out all the toys I just attempted to organize)...So I decide, since Grady has discovered the Tupperware cabinet, I will just try to get the kitchen cleaned!

While cleaning the kitchen, the big kids decide they are ready for a snack. This forces me to migrate to the den, where I will attempt to clean while they eat. When they are done, they go outside for a few minutes...Grady still totally into the Tupperware, so I clean up the snack mess and attempt to switch the laundry over, while keeping Grady from getting inside the dryer! While outside, the big kids decide mud would be fun...I don't really mind them playing in mud...it keeps them occupied and happy, and gives me a few minutes to frantically re-clean all that I attempted to clean before they went out! Only problem is, I then have to take a break from cleaning to give them a bath, which dirties up the bathroom and by the way, it's lunch time...

which starts this all over again...see how it might feel like I was chasing my tail...

After I recovered from my dizziness, I just gave in, enjoyed the giggles, played in the mess and cleaned after they went to bed for the night! ;)
