Since I would never post pics or videos of us singing or dancing, we will jump right to the baby food! Grady has gotten at least one thing that the others didn't use/have before him, homemade baby food! I can't believe I hadn't figured out how easy this was for the other two! And it is even kind of fun!
Today was apples&pears, sweet potatoes&apples, peaches, pears&apples, carrots, and bananas! Still have green beans, peas and blueberries to do! :) Those will be for another day! All it takes is peeling (if necessary), cutting, boiling and pureeing! It really is THAT easy! And boy does my baby love it!!
The sewing and bow making made me happy! Sewing is a huge outlet for me! I have been known to spend 2-3 hours after the kids go to bed closed in the craft room sewing away! I LOVE it!! And what better to sew than BABY STUFF!?! (In case you don't know me well...my husband and I have this thing about babies!! ;) ) So back to the sewing! I have a good friend who's baby shower is tomorrow so I was finishing up on her little gifts! She has two boys, and next month will welcome a baby girl into her family! So, not only did I get to make baby stuff, but I got to make baby GIRL stuff!! Boy stuff is fun, but there is only so much you can make a boy! ;) So here it is...
She is a huge Carolina fan! So I couldn't resist :) For the dress, I used a tutorial from http://barefootinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2009/06/onesie-dress-tutorial.html
I changed it up a little, but found this tutorial easy to follow! This has been my go to gift for friends having girls lately! It's just cute and comfy! :)
Initial onesie, burp cloth and matching hair bow! :) I didn't have a particular tutorial I used for any of this! I just kinda went with it! :)
And of course, I had to use my trusty embroidery machine to make a little sister onesie! :) And just threw in a burp cloth and hair bow, because, as I said, I get a little carried away with girl stuff :)
This is the little sister to two boys and daddy hasn't had to "do hair" yet, so I couldn't help myself with this bow :)
I gave the overall dress a try, because it seems to suit their "farm" lifestyle :) I used a tutorial, making my own changes here or there! I decided not to do a tiered one as in the tutorial!http://crazylittleprojects.com/2013/04/upcycled-overall-dress-tutorial.html
There you have it! My DIY baby shower gifts :) I had a blast making this stuff! It ALMOST made me want another girl of my own!...ALMOST, ha!
And since I was crafting, I went ahead and made Ada Grayce a couple bows as well :) Can't EVER have enough bows, right?!
We will call this one our signature bow ;) I could have possibly gone a little overboard on the size of that one, but Daddy approves, so it's a keeper! ;)
And this one is just for Daddy! :)
Whew! I told you it was a productive Friday! Hope everyone else had one as well! I guess now I should get back to homeschool planning...only one more month, before our official homeschool kick off!! Ahhhh! I think I can, I think I can...
