Week 4 for Grayson and Moon Unit for Ada. It's busy! A good busy. But busy nonetheless. Some days I keep up and some days...well...not so much! Ha. Grayson remains a very co-dependent worker. He really likes company. Some days this is doable, and some days it can be stressful. (On those days when everyone needs something All. The. Time. it can be taxing.) But we are working around it and adjusting when necessary! Nap time is a great time for us to be together and get some work done. Ada is rocking right along! She's one of those that loves coloring, cutting, and drawing. She is also one that you don't really think they are listening but ask them questions, and they heard it all. That's hard to get used to! Just her style, I guess! ;)
Here's a glance into what was in the work boxes this week...
Proverb copy work. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding." Proverbs 9:10
Phonics
She's definitely into the tactile learning! Loves the salt tray, noodles, beans, and of course play dough!
Working on short vowels. Finished those up and played several reading games to reinforce them.
One of her fun box was paper dolls I printed out and she dressed them with scrap fabric. She loved this!
Her moon phases book! We hope to get out this weekend and do some moon watching! They still talk about doing this with Grayson last year! :)
He always is so serious...can you tell?! ;)
A little history lesson on the first language the Bible was written in...Hebrew. He even practiced writing Genesis 1:1 in Hebrew. He was very proud to share this with his Papa!
This week he chose to write his letter to his uncle David! Such a wonderful role model he is to my boy! And he drives tractors. Grayson's pretty sure he helped daddy hang the moon.
A little art.
Pattern blocks.
His fun reading game for phonics were read and do cards. Each card gave him an short, fun activity to do. So after he read it, he had to complete it.
Creation mobile! She loved cutting and hole punching...definitely need to find some activities with a hole puncher! She would do that all day.
Cuisenaire Rods :)
Modeling the moon's surface with flour and marbles. We threw a little American flag on top for fun! ;)
Words to remember..."I am the light of the world."
And, on occasion, this happens. Not for long and not everyday, but it does happen, and what a beautiful sight it is! ;)
Yesterday we all got to see a full rainbow. The most beautiful sight. What an amazing reminder of the grace and promises of our God.
Happy Hump day! It's down hill from here and before we know it another week will be done. Make it good! ;)
