2019!

Is is too late for a New years post?! We are on break this week, so you know what that means...blog catch up! Feel free to skip right over my blog dump, it's mainly just jotting down and keeping up with what's going on, before it escapes the memory. Everyone is chilled and I'm gonna catch up on these last couple months before we blow through another 6 weeks.

It's 2019! Honest, 2018 was a hard one for us. So much happens in a year. It feels like a lifetime and a minute all at the same time. Another year of birthdays, holidays, sad days, happy days, fun days, hard days, lazy days...adventure, progress, set backs...quiet, loud, chaos...it all comes and goes in the blink of an eye.  Each moment of the year is woven together to make up this amazing life.

There's been so much fun and adventure in the midst of the struggle this year. We have found a school program that we absolutely love! It has changed our whole school time and we are so grateful. It's brought us closer together and relieved some of the tension over school that my big boy and I were experiencing. And in addition to that, it has relieved all of the feelings of "unfinished", "undone", check box school, and it just suits our lifestyle perfect. It's just what we needed!

Also, we have been on so many adventures this past year. Some summer historical trips with Merf, lots of fun camping trips, that almost always included some kind of adventure in history or nature. We have discovered that we like the freedom of nature as a family and that all the other "stuff" will be right there waiting after you take a weekend off to have fun and enjoy your family. It's been fun learning a new way to cook while camping and enjoy endless s'mores and camp fires. It's been the highlight of the year for sure!

The boys have gotten into jiu-jitsu and Ada is loving dance! Of course, watching the little one discover the world is always beautiful and joyful!

We are grateful for another year of success with Chris' business, and it is a true reflection of his hard work and dedication into making it a success and providing for us!

Chris and I have shared so many wonderful moments together running and climbing mountains with one another. He has accomplished the amazing task of running a 100 miler, and we will always be so very proud of him for doing that, but also just proud of his dedication to health, wellness, goal setting, stepping outside your comfort zone, doing hard things and setting a wonderful example for us all. His habits are inspiring and we appreciate him for that!

Overall, this has been a beautiful year of struggle, growth, failure, victory, surrender, faith, love, and life for the Powell Family and we are grateful for every minute!

We are a family that appreciates goal setting, reminiscing, reviewing successes and failures, and anticipating what's to come. We like to take time to get excited about the future possibilities and opportunities. That's what we are here for, after all, to work intentionally towards a goal...spiritual, mental and physical. That's what life is all about. Living with intention and soaking up every moment of your story. 2019 is in full swing and already we have completed 6 weeks of school, gone on our first camping trip of the year, celebrated one birthday and about to celebrate another, and also we are looking forward to our first big run of 2019 this coming weekend! We are excited for what this year holds for us...planned and unplanned, expected and unexpected, the usual and unusual...it's all used for purpose.

So! A couple months late, but happy new year from us and wishing all the good things for you and your family in 2019!
