The Week

This past week was full! Started with Christmas pictures, a little sewing, and family game night! We had a blast by the fire playing angry birds. And just for the record...the girls won! ;)

We took some time to make Rute and Afonso a Christmas card before we had our game night. They did beautiful cards and covered them in prayer! Hopefully they will feel every one of them when they receive it!

I monogrammed my girl some sweatshirts. It's starting to cool down...and I am tired of it already! Ha.

We graphed our weather and attempted yet another ant farm....that we are no good at! We accidentally sent the store bought batch of ants to heaven by leaving them in the fridge too long and these, well, the pan of water that the jar was in was supposed to keep the ants in the jar....not the result we had. They were all floating the next day. So, lesson learned. From this day forward the Powell family will watch ants do their thing on youtube! ;)

We implemented a new discipline/reward system this week, so this devotion particularly stuck out for me. We try our best to train them up in the way they should go, and so far, our new ticket system acknowledges the good, corrects the not so good, and serves as a little motivation. So far it's a win!

Enjoying a few warms days!

Little Ada is becoming quite the artist! Loves to draw! :)

We finally got to start adding to our Bible times timeline! Can't wait to see how it fills up!

We spent a lot of time cracking pecans the past couple weeks! We are freezing some for cooking, roasting some, and dipping some in chocolate. It's been a fun little activity, and the kids love it.

Grayson was proud to show off his uniform that FINALLY has the patches sewed on! It's very questionable if they are sewed on correctly but I am a newbie so maybe they will forgive me this time!

Grayson's science focused on space this week, he is pretty sure, today, that he would like to be a "space scientist". I told him to go for it! So we shall see! ;) He had lots of fun making a Bible Lands Map out of clay and then painting it. We have to add the labels when it dries, but it turned out very cute!

This coming week will conclude the 2014 year as far as schooling goes. We plan to take a few weeks off to celebrate the holidays and recover from the first half of the year, while preparing for the last half of the year! It's flown by!! And we are having a blast and this year has so far been an excellent year for Grayson, as far as compliance and over all attitude goes! Excellent! And Ada has been a wonderful student and gotten off to an amazing school start! She loves it and is an angel, 98% of the time. We are having so much fun. What a joy and privilege it's been. This week will be a fun one :)
