Happy Halloween!

Halloween! It could almost serve as an end of the year and beginning of the holiday season! I can't believe this time is upon us already! This was the first Halloween without not just one set of grandparents but both living out of town, it was a little weird for us!...sounds silly to some, but turns out, for this mama, it was quite emotional! Ha! Y'all! I am such a family nut! I love having people together and just being with one another, and I think for me, it's just important to have that for my children, but sometimes it just doesn't work, and that too is something we have to learn to accept. Gotta accept things aren't what they used to be. ;)

We started the week with a visit to my mom's and  Chris' parents. We painted gourds, ate lots of yummy food, and the kids participated in trunk-or-treat at Papa and Rosey's church. The kids enjoyed it and it was Grady's first time actually being a part of it, and he wasn't shy about getting candy, at all! ;) The other two had a blast!

This year we had Princess Belle, a handsome knight and the cutest squire I have ever seen! ;)

This is how a real princess slides! Tiara and all. ;)
You know I love some cute holiday food! So I attempted to make some cute, fun food this week. Some I was able to snap a picture of and some remains un-photographed, but still fun! ;)

Candy corn!

Spider webs :)

Mini chocolate covered pretzels...Grady loves chocolate covered pretzels and I usually do the big rods but we gave the small ones a try and they enjoyed those just as much! :)

The week of course included some pumpkin carving! The kids were required to do them all by themselves...partly because mama can't handle all the goo! ;) They had a blast and did a great job, I think!

Ada even talked me into making an "Elsa leotard" for her to wear to gymnastics. I actually enjoyed making it, very much! It was a lot of fun, and I was quite impressed with the result! :)

We met a few wonderful friends for Halloween pancakes at IHOP! That was a treat and they all had a ball! :)

We concluded our Halloween at our church for Trunk-or-Treat! We had fun participating this year and their favorite aunts and uncle was there too, and that could have been the best part! ;)

Happy Halloween! <3 Let November begin! ;)
