School week before last was fun! Grayson's Proverb was about giving to the poor and with the holiday season quickly approaching, it was a fun opportunity get the kids thinking about how we can give! We filled shoe boxes, picked out an animal from the Food for Hungry catalog and split three ways (each child paying a third from their saved money), and sent out some Christmas cards. They were so very excited about this! And to be honest Chris and I are too! To think we often complain because we don't have the latest electronic or clothes, and there are people around the world who would just love a little milk to drink or meat to eat. It's a very humbling sad reality. As Chris puts it, as thankful as we are, we definitely have "first world problems", and have not a single clue what it like to struggle for the very essentials of life. But we do our best to reach out and help what little bit we can! And maybe the family or village that receives their little goat from us will know how much we pray for them! It was a fun week and a learning one for all of us and the older the children get the more fun it is to get them involved in making what little difference we can! It's fun to give!
Along with that, here's a peak at the rest of the week!
Working with her salt tray.
Learning about nonstandard measurement. He enjoyed this a lot.
Ada was learning about water! So we took a closer look at water in the liquid, solid and gas form.
Packing their boxes! Special letters and pictures in each one! :)
Writing their Christmas cards for Rute and Afonso!
Grayson began his Bible Notebook this week. I love this thing! And I think he does too. It was a fun addition to our school work.
