Work Box Wednesday

School has been extremely enjoyable this week. It's gone super smooth. This is a little bitter sweet. It's so enjoyable during these times...but....I know the challenges are coming! ;) But for this week, we soaked up every great moment and made the most of it.  So here's a peek at our week...

Working on her first phonics lesson and her turtle art.

Grayson is really starting to get the base set for diving into "God's Story". This week we were learning about and drawing a Bible lands map. He really really enjoyed this. And bonus, his Papa shared some really cool pictures with him, some of which were in the bodies of water he drew on his map! Super special! ;)

Math with dice. Still loving the math!

Learning about healing words versus hurtful words. We are practicing! ;)

Working with her math rods. We didn't quite get all of her turtle unit done in 5 days so we carried it on into the next week.

 A little math :)

Ada loves journaling. Very rarely are there words but the pictures are so wonderful. She spends lots of time doing her journal! ;)

Turtle race :) "I don't quit. I persevere."

Ada moved on to her "Us Unit". We are talking all about our senses and how wonderful God made us.

Continuing with Grayson's Bible history, we put on Bible times costumes. Ada was learning about the sense of hearing...so we just combined that all and had a Bible times band! What a fun time! Grady was unsure and preferred to use his pot for cookies, but he warmed up after a while and requested his costume and joined the music fun! ;) "This is The Day" has never been so fun to sing!

Grayson's reading skills are really picking up in the last few weeks and his determination to read "big" books is really up there. He started this week reading a chapter a day independently and then giving me the run down...then we read it together. ;)

Grayson and Ada have really been itching to get on the sewing machine. I found some printable sewing mazes and dot-to-dots to help them get used to navigating the machine and learning all the ins and outs. He absolutely loved it! And it quickly went to wanting to sew fabric, so we did! We searched the web for an easy first sewing project. We found one and they decided they wanted to make them for Christmas presents, so I can't share! ;)

We spent the afternoon at the library. Grayson participated in a French class and the little ones and I played in the children's section. Grady's first time really enjoying it! ;)

We seized the opportunity to do some moon watching. It was a delightful evening, and the big kids very much enjoyed their "moon study", as Grayson called it.
