Letter- Ww
Number- 10
Words to Remember- "Jesus gives my spirit living water to drink."
If I haven't mentioned yet, Grayson loovess sensory stuff! The approach of this curriculum fits him very well! :) Pudding paint was right up his alley! ;)
Our short vowel song is getting longer and he is keeping up! :)
He can get grumpy with the "work" from time to time but did pretty well with this unit! :) He prefers just the fun stuff! What kid doesn't!? ;)
Our unit was on water so we learned about the three forms: liquid, solid and gas. We spent a day on each. For liquid we poured water into different shaped containers so we could see that it takes the shape of what it's in. We did the same with a nickel to see that it state the same in each container. He of course loves "experiments", so he enjoyed this unit. It was full of them!
We started a chart on the first day that we added to each day!
Letter recognition! Sorry about the no shirt...he is in a habit these days of going without! ;)
Blend ladder...this has become a lot of fun for him and I!
I listed our number as being 10 for this unit...we made 10 in several ways with money! I think he is beginning to understand this a little! Hard to comprehend when you see 10 pennies, that it isn't more than the dime or two nickles! But he did, after several explanations, he did have a little "Aha" moment!
We froze water to make it a solid. He spent an extended amount of time crushing this with a kids knife and eating little bits as he went! He had a blast with it!
We had to attempt school with brother and sister one day...yeah! We had to kick them out after a while! Little brother was into everything!!! And sister wanted to talk the whole time! ;)
We did eventually get through it all. And when we talked about gas, so he helped me boil the noodles for supper. Do to the chaos of supper time...there are no pictures of that! ;)
Monday of this week we finished up on our water unit! The outside activity was to play in the rain! And just so happens it was doing just that!! :) he was thrilled!!! And he got absolutely filthy and then when straight to the tub! So it was two water lessons in one! ;)
Our book for the unit was, Make Way For Ducklings, which is a really cute story. To go with this we talked about how their feathers have oil on them! So we cut out feathers, rubbed them with oil and put water on one, and left the other as is. It showed how the water beads up on the oil! Pretty cool!
We also did a little I disolving....we put oil in one tube with water and salt in the other. The salt dissolved the oil didn't
I was kind of slack pictures this week! But another unit is in the books! This year seems to be flying by! We are quickly approaching our 100th day of school!! I can hardly believe it!! :)
