A few years back, maybe even before children, Chris and I agreed since my passion was the beach and his was the mountains...that we would split our vacation time and money to be able to have a short trip to both each year. He still enjoys our time at the beach and I still very much enjoy our time at the mountains...its just if we HAD to pick just one...we wouldn't side together on that! ;)
We stayed three nights in a little cabin that we found a few years ago. This was our third stay in this group of cabins...we have really come to enjoy them, a lot! This is where we stayed! The kids loved our "mountain house" and so did we! Already can't wait to go back next Fall! :) It was perfectly COLD for the mountains in the Winter! Perfect...all but snow! We were hoping for snow! ;)
We didn't do much the first day. We arrived late in the afternoon and just kind of chilled out! On Friday, Papa and Rosey joined us to go on the Polar Express with us!!! Talk about fun!! It was a blast! As I said before, The big kids are really entering a wonderfully fun, magical, imaginative, joyous age! They talk, act independently, and have original thoughts all wrapped in the innocence of a child's mind! The train ride is in Bryson City, NC. We have ridden before and have also done Charlie Brown's Pumpkin Patch a couple years ago! It's such a fun activity for them! They just love it! And we haven't been disappointed yet! :)
Saturday was rainy and cold...our little 5 said goodbye to Papa and Rosey and ventured out for a little bit, not able to get out and walk too much, but we did find a book store to slip into! That was fun! Daddy got his coffee and book fix and the kids and I explored the kids book section and picked out a couple for us too! ;)

And Sunday, we headed home! The only complaint I have is that the trip came and went way too quick!! It was a wonderful time for all of us!!
