Then, Daddy and I switched for the afternoon, and I got the girl! So it was a nice change of pace and fun to have time with each of them individually and for them to have time with mommy and Grady and a little alone time with Daddy!
This evening, as Ada and I were picking out her school clothes for tomorrow and when they were tucked in bed, I was making some bows, I had that phrase "never say never" going through my head. Let me explain...
As a girl, I was pretty "tom boyish" (you know what I mean)...definitely no bows...very rarely dresses...just kind of a jeans and tennis shoe girl...still am really. When I was pregnant and found out we were having a girl, I told everyone (and yes, they probably laugh now) that I wasn't doing big bows and frilly dresses...yeah...I really said that! And for a few months, I didn't! I guess I kinda always did do dresses...not frilly but I did do lots of dresses..and then the bows happened. How? I have no idea...
I got in my head that I needed to make her dresses and bows, that it would be fun...and that's where it all began! Somewhere around her second birthday I started making them...and that was that! There went the "I won't do big bows" thing...I would make frilly dresses if I could, but peasant, pillow case dress and sundress is about as complicated as I can get! ;)
Tonight I spent ALL evening making bows. Me. The one who said she wasn't doing big bows...oh, I taste those words every time I dress Ada...I LOVE bows...big, little, sparkly, plain, stacked, spiky, pinwheel, boutique...doesn't matter what kind, but I definitely do bows! ;)
I have the privilege of selling my bows in a local boutique in town, so this evening, I spent a lot of time making some to deliver tomorrow...and of course there were some that Ada "needed" also! And then there's some friends that might need some too...so 32 bows later, I stopped! ;)
Did I mention I love bows?? And just to set the record straight...I retract any previous statement ever made by me about bows and dresses...I do dresses and certainly do bows! ;)
