School is in full swing around here. We are just finishing up our week off and about to dive into another 6 week term before enjoying our fall mountain family vacation! We are all patiently (or not so patiently) looking forward to some time in the mountains! The year has gotten off to a great start! Kindergarten, 3rd grade and 5th grade! I'm still a little in shock we have made it this far!
Together we have all thoroughly enjoyed camping, exploring and running. All of the kids are just at the best ages for spending time together and really enjoying things with one another. Analeigh is of course still at the high maintenance age but she's very go with the flow too and they absolutely love including her. She's not just mom and dad's baby, she's their baby too! :) Tuesday is our poetry, creative writing, and science day. We do these as a group and it is very enjoyable. Everyone enjoys working together and it's very nice for mom to spend a couple hours and have everyone taken care of for the day! We are currently working on a space science unit and everyone is liking it! History day is friday and we also work together on that day. We have been exploring some local and state wide historical monuments and museums and really are having a great time with it!
We threw in the occasional library day and will be doing more of these now that Analeigh is getting a bit easier to take along :)
Ada is working hard and nearing the end of her current level book and will begin a new one before our next 6 week term is over. She still enjoys sewing, dancing and piano. She loves to write and is a fantastic speller! Ada is known around here as very particular and thorough and it's part of what makes her so wonderful! we appreciate that about her!
Analeigh keeps us on our toes! It's a lot of work to keep her entertained during school time, but we all pitch in and it works beautifully. She's learning so much and discovering something new about this great big world, each and every day. She's a sweet little girl who's not at all lacking in love from her siblings. They absolutely adore her!
Grady! My big boy kindergartner! He's embraced reading and math with such a determination to learn and figure it all out. We take our time with it and review as long as needed until it's mastered before we move on. He seems to enjoy it all so far and likes officially being included in all the school activities. He's a sweet, growing, smart boy and it's fun to help him learn these most important skills! His siblings join right into the teaching and love celebrating his success as well. It fills my heart and I am beyond blessed to get the opportunity to share these moments with all of them.
My big boy. My big growing into a preteen boy. Some days my heart can't even handle how big he has gotten, but at the same time, I adore the young man he's becoming. He's passionate and loves to explore topics and find out all he can about them. He's working on mastering multiplication and loves angles and fractions in math. He completed his first level of The Good and The Beautiful and will move on to the next one on Monday. He's thrilled with this accomplishment and we are proud of him and how far his writing and composition skills have come in just 6 short months. He's really putting in the effort and it shows! He's a hardworking boy and a wonderful leader! My handsome big boy rarely approves of his picture being taken, but I was able to beg for a few and snag a few of everyone else to document what we have been up to.
The first 6 weeks was definitely a success and we are all ready to take on the next 6! And before we know it, it will be Christmas break and then the start of a whole new calendar year! The time is flying by so incredibly fast that it's almost scary, but we are loving it to the max!
