The Climb

"Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you are climbing it."
We had the opportunity, a couple weeks ago, to have a date with a mountain! It was great! It may have taken my legs a week to recover, but it seriously was SO fun! I'd do it again right now if I had the chance! There's something about walking trails that really does do peculiar things to my heart. It's cleansing and renewing and fun and exciting, all the while occasionally torture, but in a good way! ha. And when you finally get to where your going there is ALWAYS a reward, even if you go in one big circle that leads right back to where you started! I've yet to be disappointed by any walk in the woods! But on the rare occasion, you get the view from the top of a mountain. And at that moment, it was worth every step, crawl and climb! It was beautiful. Magnificent, lovely and breathtaking. Those moments, when you're standing there beside one of your very favorite people on the planet, and together marvel at the amazing wonders all around us, some right under our nose yet so undiscovered to us. It's also a time when everything is put into perspective. We are soooo small in this big big world...this is only one mountain...there are SOOO many more mountains and other majestic wonders created by the same God that made these two small people standing on top of it. And to think, being so big and creating all the things, He loves even us. And He even loves us enough to share allllll of this. Pretty Amazing. Table Rock didn't disappoint and I will treasure every minute of that 5 hour hike, up and down. Just me and my person together, discovering a teeny tiny bit of God's glory together. And I can't wait to see what we find next.

And what goes up, must come down...that may have been harder than the climb...because, well, the legs get tired after a few hours...but it was SO worth it!

We have a secret hideout trip planned later this year and can NOT wait to share some of this beauty with the kids!
