Christmas With Mac Jingles and Ella Twirl

The kids are having a blast. As I said last year, we struggled a bit with weather to introduce the whole idea of Santa to the children, but after much thought and prayer, we went with it. May not fit everyone, but fits us! :) We don't focus on the good behavior part of Christmas, but sharing Jesus part. Faith. Believing in each other and in the birth of Jesus. Giving gifts out of love, just as Jesus was given to us. Not because we earned it, but because God loves us. It's fun and magical and wonderful. Thank goodness for the inner struggle I experienced the first few years of having children, because I wouldn't have wanted to miss this. Yes, I would teach them about Jesus without Santa and the Elves, but it sure has added a little bit of magic that I hope they, and I,  will remember for lots of years! ;) And maybe, just maybe, it will help develop and deepen their capacity to believe in themselves and above all, God, the creator of all things. He can't be seen in person, but he lives in the hearts of those around us. He lives in the goodness and love we share. God is real. He is good. And WE have to make him known! And the Powell House happens to use the help of a couple of special elf friends to remind us to be loving, shinning, giving little people for God!

Here's just a snapshot of our week with Mac Jingles and Ella Twirl :)

They left canned goods to be donated to the food bank and reminded us how important it is to give to the poor!

They built with legos and left a letter about honesty...just happened to be something we needed a reminder on that day! ;)

And then, they found them in the fridge playing with some Frozen dolls. ;) We had fun cutting the snowflakes they left for us to do.

Playing games and a little note about playing well with one another and being loving and kind. :)

And because the kids were so so sweet, the next day they were served a batch of sweet "elf stew" and a big reminder note about being sweet! ;)

And then our sweet elves took some elf selfies with our "Happy Birthday Jesus" ornament and changed the wallpaper on mommy's phone! ;) That was a hit with my little technology boy!

That was this week in a nutshell! ;) Already looking forward to more elf fun and teaching moments this coming week. :)
