Each lesson includes a few Bible passages to read, a small craft (that is focusing on one of the senses) and a discussion.
Today, was smell. Mary's perfume. This passage actually has a personal meaning for me, as it reminds me of my dear sweet Royce, a woman who showed me what it meant to really LOVE Jesus. I can see her my mind doing exactly as Mary did.
Each child located a passage in their Bible and we read them together. John 12:1-8 and Matthew 26:6-13. (We even had one of our special aunts here to do it with us tonight! :) )
After reading, we decorated a bottle of our own "perfume". We actually used the store bought air freshener. But they enjoyed this part! They love creating and spending this family time together!
After we made our "perfume" we talked about how every time we smell it, in the upcoming days, we will be reminded that Jesus died for us! And we will say a little thank you prayer.
There's nothing quite as touching, as when you sit and study God's word with your children. No, they don't "get" everything. But, I have learned they "get" a lot more than we give them credit for! My oldest son is a thinker, so he loves diving in and discussing! And sweet Ada, you will learn, is all about detail! And they are both such an inspiration! :) Even Grady looks at the picture of The Last Supper we have in our dining room and points to "Jesus"...he knows His name. And there is no sweeter name on earth.
