embracing and cherishing every chaotic, messy, fun, ordinary, and heavenly day that make up this lightening fast life

11! Wowza! That went fast. And 11 years into the hardest job I've ever had and I can say it's totally worth it! That little STRONG willed baby boy is becoming a little man. Let's be honest, some days were hard (and I am sure there will be more, but definitely few and far between lately!) He was a challenge, but I can see the fruit! So often, lately, I look over and I get a glimpse of the wonderful young man he's transitioning into. My heart is on the verge of exploding every time I see it. He's loving and compassionate, patient and forgiving, selfless, and intentional, really kind and sympathetic. He's a wonderful brother. God was so kind to choose us to be his parents. It's hard to think with every year we get closer to releasing this arrow, and now, our years with him at home are more than halfway over, but I pray we have built and continue to build the relationship that puts home in his heart and gives him a place and people that he knows will always love him! Our relationship is in such a sweet spot right now. He's maturing so much and is so understanding and loving toward everyone and their emotions. I appreciate so much the tender hearted young man my boy is becoming. He shows a genuine respect for me, as his mom (aside from the occasional preteen boy "moment", which I expect is just beginning) and as a lady. He couldn't appreciate and look up to his father anymore than he does, and what a great man he has to lead him. He's showing such a sense of responsibility around the house and with relationships. His physical discipline is becoming more apparent in his dedication to healthy living and bettering his jiu jitsu skills. His siblings adore him and He is a wonderful leader of our kid pack! I can't say enough how proud I am of him and who he is becoming, on his journey. It is a joy to be a small part of his story. We love and treasure this wonderful boy! Happy birthday, my first baby. You are a gift. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be....
