Sweet Summertime!

So the last week of Summer has officially begun! What a delightful Summer it has been! I think these will continue to grow in enjoyment as the kids get older!
Just recapping the summer....
We kicked off the summer with a big 4K graduation, and a party of course...because I love parties :)

And with that, a trip to my favorite place...Edisto Island! I could stay there soooo much longer than just a few days, but what a wonderful few days it was! There is something so wonderful about separating from all the fuss and busy just to relax and enjoy each other and our babies, not to mention two extra hands 24 hours a day is a Mommy's dream come true! So all the work packing is worth it since I get the most wonderful husband's help for a few days! :)

Late May we were able to go to our family reunion in the mountains...this is a fun trip for lots of reasons! The first being seeing family we don't get to very often. The second being...my husband LOVES the mountains. And finally, we get a few uninterrupted days to spend together...so how could that not be wonderful! :)

June got off to a tough start as I said goodbye to a friend of 17 years! It's been a blessing to be so close for so long and our children have thoroughly enjoyed each other over the past 4.5 years. That was hard, but FaceTime and letters keep us connected, and I can't wait to hug at Christmas! :) Also, June is Grayson's birthday month...YAY! another party to plan!!! :) Birthdays are my weakness...I keep saying I am going to stop "doing them so big", but somehow, I always end up eating those words! What could be more fun than making those little people feel like the specialist person alive?!? I just can't help it! ;) The party this year was "Camp Grayson"! It was a blast to plan and I think it turned out very nice, and he certainly enjoyed it! :) (And a little side note, Grayson learned to ride his bike without training wheels, which was huge for him and made me so proud!)

It was July before we knew it! I braved driving to my in-laws by myself...with the kids...this was a major accomplishment! And I am glad to know I CAN do it! :) We had a fun few days. Got a chance to go to the children's museum while we were there and they really enjoyed that! And we got Grady his first shoes at a mall close by! :) That was fun!
July was also full of VBS! We went a week at our church and then Grayson got to stay and go a week at Papa and Rosey's church! We still listen to the music from their VBS! He had a blast!!! It's fun to see him doing things like this and enjoying it more and more the older he gets! And along with all this we finished up another season of T-Ball, Ada was invited to participate in the Jumpers class in gymnastics and has LOVED it, AND we have a new baby to snuggle (it's a good friends' baby, but we are so excited, and snuggle anytime we can)! :) It's all kept us busy but it's been fun!

And just like that, August came! And here were are ready for school! I look forward to the upcoming week! Our last week to "goof off"! We are planning a back to school celebration with some fellow homeschoolers which should be a lot of fun and really get the kids excited about the upcoming school year! Grayson is already so excited to start school next week and I am excited to begin this journey as well! Overall, it's been a sweet sweet summer! :)
