Restarts, sometimes you just have to go back to square one and try again. This year we are doing just that. We had started school and it's not all going terrible but I just have been "in it". There's been traveling, visitors, etc and it's just been kind of a mess. So after much prayer and thought. We are going to change a few things up and have a restart. We will continue with our Exploring Countries and Cultures as planned over the next few weeks but will switch up math curriculum and start again with a full school schedule after Labor Day. For now we will do math drills and I will gladly hand over teaching 4th grade math to a DVD come September! Ha
Each year of homeschooling I learn things. Each year there's life events on top of juggling the regular day to day that do have an affect on schooling. I'm learning to be very flexible, as are the children and am so grateful for the opportunity to school my little ones. I appreciate the lessons homeschooling has taught me and continues to teach me. I certainly want to feel like I have given them the best of me, and lately that is very questionable! Ha. So it's been an area of much prayer and investigation and hopefully a few changes and good restart will get us off to a fresh "new" year! And yay for homeschooling where you can screech to a halt, investigate, rearrange, and restart, because yall! I'd be lying if I said we weren't desperate for it right now! So here's to a new year...again! I've got some planning time now and we are gonna rock it in September! ;) The kids and I talked it over and are celebrating a second first day of school ;) This week has gotten off to an awesome start! We are finally finishing up our first country in EC&C (the USA) and will move on to Mexico next week! One day at a time :)
