Soak Up THE SON

This week didn't go quite as planned. I had plans to get everything done in order to start the packing process, we were gonna spend our third week on track in school, and so many other things! Instead, the first half of the week the stomach bug plagued the Powell House. It was awful. Terrible. Very bad. But the sun was shining and it was warmer so mommy was able to step outside after each clean up and take a few deep breaths, feel the sun on my face, and get back to it. There was NO sleep for a few nights, but today, we came out on the other side. As I stood in the sun yesterday, just praying for a restful night and praying we had reached the end, I realized the warmth and energy the sun provides is so symbolic of THE SON. He seems to find us in the restless times, sick times, exhausted times. He finds us and just reassures us, warms us, and gives us just the energy we need to make it!
We survived. And for the sunshine that peaked through the windows and THE SON that showed himself in the bright blue skies and warmth, I am so grateful.
We are somewhat glad this week is over! Our house is in shambles and our washer is begging for a break and everyone is just exhausted, but best of all we are now down to just 9 days before we take our trip! Very unpleasant way to countdown this week, but the main thing is it's over. :) Tomorrow they should be rested up and ready to go! We have days of school to make up and a special little girls birthday lunch to prepare for! :) Soak up THE SON today, He's right there with you! :)
